Election Results in Jamaica

It is alleged that Omar Davis (the previous Finance Minister) once said "Jus run wid it", when he was asked about the Finsac debacle while he was Minister of Finance. I now echo his words in response to the recent Jamaica Elections held on December 29th, 2011.
Stats from the ECJ indicate that approximately 52.10% of eligible voters exercised their right to vote, so what happened to the other 48%?
I will refrain from getting into the analysis of the election, as Jamaica is known for a lot of talking, analyzing and nitpicking, but nobody has the definitive answers to the question of "what happened?. Prior to the election date, it was widely pronounced (using various polls, and learned pundits) that it would be a close election with the JLP winning by a nose. So to see that the PNP won by a wide margin, is a surprise indeed.
To the people of Jamaica, be careful what you wish for, now you have to "run wid it".
To the JLP, now in opposition, take solace that you will live to fight another day, in 2016. To the PNP, now forming the next Government, I hope you have a vision for Jamaica and be prepared for significant pain in this period of a weakening World economy. Be aware that Jamaica in now a welfare state, and you can't keep borrowing from Peter to pay Paul, it is not sustainable.
This is my last post for the year, so to all who venture to read my ramblings. I wish you HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!
