Well, 2011 is nearly over and in some parts of the world, change is happening. This change may be for the better or worse, but change will happen. One of the things that human beings are afraid of is change. It maybe a change of job, or procedure, or climate or the cost of living, in each case us humans will have a deep down fear of the change, of the unknown.
As the new year is just on the horizon, it maybe a signal that each individual reading this, can and should consider the choices we make, and the change that will come from these choices.
It could be a choice of being kind to another human being, or show some compassion towards another human. Take a look at the homeless person begging some money, as he/she is somebody's relative. But for the grace of God, they could be your relative. Show them some kindness (if you don't have money to give, buy them a coffee), show some compassion, remember, but for the Grace of God, so go I; it does not take much for anyone of us to be in their shoes.
I am not preaching to anyone, just asking that each one of us can make the small effort to change our community for the better, and in doing so become the change agent and overcome our fears.
